Rating System
The plugin uses a two-tier star rating system: an overall rating and optional subcategory ratings.
Overall Rating
Every review requires an overall 1–5 star rating. This is the primary metric displayed everywhere. The input uses a CSS-only star selector — no JavaScript required for the star interaction.
Subcategory Ratings
Reviewers can optionally rate five default categories, each on a 1–5 scale:
| Category | What It Measures |
|---|---|
| Event Organization | How well the event was planned and run |
| Staff & Coordinator Helpfulness | Quality of event staff and organizer support |
| Table Cost Value | Whether the table cost was reasonable for what you got |
| Foot Traffic & Sales Potential | Volume of attendees and buying opportunity |
| Venue Quality | Condition and suitability of the event space |
Subcategory ratings are completely optional. If a reviewer skips a category, it’s excluded from that category’s average — it doesn’t count as zero.
Pro: Subcategories can be fully customized from the Settings > Rating Fields tab. Add, remove, and reorder categories with the drag-and-drop repeater.
How Averages Are Calculated
The overall average sums all approved reviews’ overall ratings and divides by the review count. Each subcategory average is computed independently from only the reviews that rated that category.
Star Display
Stars render as Unicode characters. The display rounds to the nearest whole star. The exact decimal average is shown alongside the stars.
