Event Types Taxonomy

The Event Types taxonomy lets you categorize events for filtering and organization. It works like WordPress categories — hierarchical, with its own admin screen.

Managing Event Types

1. Go to Vendor Events > Event Types.
2. Add new types like “Craft Fair,” “Trade Show,” “Farmers Market,” “Pop-Up Market,” etc.
3. Optionally add descriptions and set parent types for hierarchical organization.

How Types Are Displayed

• Archive page — Event types appear as filter buttons at the top of the archive. Clicking a type shows only events of that type.
• Event cards — The first assigned type appears as a badge on each event card.
• Single event page — The event type appears as a linked badge next to the event title.

Event Type Archive URLs

Each event type has its own archive page at /event-type/craft-fair/. These use the same archive template as the main event archive, filtered to that type.
