Installation & Activation

There are two ways to install the plugin on your WordPress site. Choose whichever method is most convenient for your workflow.

Method 1: Upload via the WordPress Admin

  1. Download the plugin .zip file from your purchase confirmation email or your account dashboard.
  2. In your WordPress admin, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  3. Click the “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the page.
  4. Click “Choose File”, select the downloaded .zip file, and then click “Install Now”.
  5. Once the installation completes, click “Activate Plugin”.

Method 2: Manual Upload via FTP

  1. Extract the plugin .zip file on your computer.
  2. Connect to your server using an FTP client (such as FileZilla).
  3. Upload the extracted plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  4. In the WordPress admin, go to Plugins and find “ID Payment Link Generator” in the list.
  5. Click “Activate”.

What Happens on Activation

When you activate the plugin for the first time, several things happen automatically:

  • The plugin creates the required database tables used to store customer records and email template data (Pro features).
  • A new top-level menu item called “Payment Links” is registered in the WordPress admin sidebar at menu position 30.
  • Default settings are initialized so the plugin is ready for configuration right away.

Licensing (Pro Version)

The Pro version of the plugin uses the Freemius SDK to handle license activation and updates. After activating the plugin, you will see a prompt to enter your license key or opt into the free version. If you purchased a Pro license, enter your key to unlock all premium features immediately. License validation is handled securely through the Freemius API.

Tip: If you are upgrading from the free version to Pro, simply deactivate the free version, install and activate the Pro version, and enter your license key. Your existing settings will be preserved.
