Navigate to Dog Walking > Contact Entries to view submissions from the contact form shortcode.
How Contact Entries Work
When a visitor submits the [[dwb_contact_form]] shortcode on your site, the submission is stored in the database and appears in the Contact Entries list. Each entry includes:
- Name — The visitor’s name
- Email — The visitor’s email address
- Message — The content of their inquiry
- Date — When the submission was received
- Status — Current status of the entry
Entry Statuses
- New — A fresh submission that has not been addressed
- Responded — You have responded to the inquiry
- Archived — The entry has been archived
Admins can update the status from the entry detail view and delete entries when they are no longer needed.
Rate Limiting
To prevent spam and abuse, the contact form enforces rate limiting: a maximum of 3 submissions per IP address per 5 minutes. If a visitor exceeds this limit, they will see an error message asking them to try again later. This is a fixed limit designed to prevent automated form abuse.
