Installation
Dog Walking Business can be installed like any standard WordPress plugin.
Upload & Activate
- Download the plugin
.zipfile to your computer. - In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the
.zipfile and click Install Now. - Click Activate Plugin.
Alternatively, upload the extracted plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/ via FTP and activate it from the Plugins screen.
Requirements
- WordPress: 5.8 or higher
- PHP: 7.4 or higher
What Happens on Activation
When the plugin is activated for the first time, it performs the following setup automatically:
- Database Tables — The plugin creates 10+ custom database tables for customers, pets, services, appointments, invoices, payments, subscriptions, contact entries, and more.
- WordPress Role — A
dwb_customerWordPress role is created. This role is assigned to customer accounts linked from customer records, giving them access to the My Account portal without full admin access. - Default Options — Default plugin settings are saved to the database, including currency symbol, business hours, and email notification defaults.
Pro Licensing
The plugin uses the Freemius SDK for Pro license management. After activating the plugin, navigate to Dog Walking > Settings > License to enter your Pro license key. A 7-day free trial is available to test Pro features before purchasing.
