Recurring Appointments
Create appointment series that repeat on a schedule. This is ideal for customers who need regular dog walking or pet sitting services.
Frequency Options
- Daily — Repeats every day or every N days
- Weekly — Repeats every week or every N weeks. Select specific weekdays (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
- Biweekly — Repeats every two weeks on selected weekdays
- Monthly — Repeats on a specific day of the month or a day-of-week pattern (e.g., “2nd Tuesday”, “last Friday”). Supports last-week-of-month scheduling.
Interval Control
Set the interval for daily, weekly, and monthly frequencies. For example, “every 2 days” or “every 3 weeks”.
End Options
- Never — The series continues indefinitely
- After N occurrences — The series ends after a specified number of appointments
- On a specific date — The series ends on a chosen date
Preview
Before creating the recurring series, preview the generated dates to confirm the schedule is correct.
How Appointments Are Generated
The plugin generates individual appointments from the recurring series up to 90 days ahead. A WordPress cron job runs periodically to generate new appointments as dates approach. Each generated appointment appears in the regular appointments list and can be managed individually.
Managing a Recurring Series
- Update Series — Modify the recurrence pattern, and future appointments will be regenerated
- Delete Series — Remove the recurring series and optionally delete all future generated appointments
- Manage Individually — Each generated appointment can be edited, approved, completed, or cancelled independently of the series
