Quick Start Guide
Follow these steps to get your dog walking business up and running quickly.
Step 1: Configure Your Business
Go to Dog Walking > Settings and fill in your business details:
- Business Name — Your company or business name
- Email — Your business email address (used in notifications)
- Phone — Your business phone number
- Address — Your business address
Step 2: Set Business Hours
On the same Settings page, set your Business Hours Start and Business Hours End times. These times determine the available slots shown in the booking form.
Step 3: Add Services
Go to Dog Walking > Services and add your services. For each service, enter:
- Name — e.g., “30-Minute Walk”, “Full Day Pet Sitting”
- Duration — How long the service takes
- Base Rate — Price for one pet
- Service Type — e.g., walk, sitting, grooming
Step 4: Add Your First Customer
Go to Dog Walking > Customers and add your first customer with their name, email, phone, and address.
Step 5: Add Pet Profiles
From the customer record, go to the Pets tab and add pet profiles with name, breed, weight, temperament, and any special instructions.
Step 6: Create an Appointment
Go to Dog Walking > Appointments and create your first appointment by selecting a customer, service, date/time, and which pets are included.
Step 7: Add the Booking Form
Create a new WordPress page and add the booking form shortcode:
[[dwb_booking_form]]
This displays a multi-step booking form where visitors can select a service, choose a date and time, enter their information, and submit a booking request.
Step 8: Display Your Pricing
Add the pricing display shortcode to any page:
[[dog_walking_pricing]]
This shows your services and rates in an attractive layout with an optional “Book Now” button.
