The Outlook app is the recommended way to access Microsoft 365 email on Android.

Installing the Outlook App

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Search for Microsoft Outlook
  3. Tap Install

Setting Up Your Account

  1. Open the Outlook app
  2. Tap Add Account (or if this is your first time, enter your email directly)
  3. Enter your full email address and tap Continue
  4. Enter your password
  5. Complete any two-factor authentication if prompted
  6. Tap Maybe Later for any optional features or setup prompts

Your email will begin syncing automatically.

Adding Additional Accounts

To add more email accounts:

  1. Tap your profile icon in the top left
  2. Tap the email icon with a + (Add Account)
  3. Follow the same steps to sign in

Using the Outlook App

  • Focused Inbox – Important messages appear in Focused; everything else goes to Other
  • Swipe actions – Customize what happens when you swipe left or right on messages
  • Calendar – Tap the calendar icon at the bottom to see your schedule
  • Search – Tap the search icon to find emails, contacts, or events

Alternative: Using the Gmail App

You can also add your Microsoft 365 account to the Gmail app:

  1. Open Gmail
  2. Tap your profile icon → Add another account
  3. Select Office 365 (or Outlook, Hotmail, and Live)
  4. Enter your credentials

Troubleshooting

If sign-in fails, verify your email and password. Complete any two-factor authentication prompts. Contact your administrator if you're locked out or getting account errors.
