03 Getting Started with Outlook Web Print

Outlook on the web provides access to your Microsoft 365 email from any browser—no software installation required.

Accessing Outlook Web

  1. Go to outlook.office.com (or outlook.com)
  2. Sign in with your full email address and password

You can also access Outlook from the Microsoft 365 app launcher (grid icon) when signed into any Microsoft 365 service.

The Outlook Interface

Left Sidebar:

  • New mail – Start composing a message
  • Inbox – Incoming messages
  • Drafts – Unfinished messages
  • Sent Items – Messages you've sent
  • Deleted Items – Recently deleted messages
  • Folders – Your custom folders

Main Area:

  • Message list showing your emails
  • Reading pane displaying the selected message

Top Bar:

  • Search box for finding emails
  • Settings gear icon
  • Your account profile

Composing an Email

  1. Click New mail in the left sidebar
  2. Enter the recipient's email address in the To field
  3. Add a Subject line
  4. Write your message in the body area
  5. Click Send

Replying to Email

  1. Open the email you want to reply to
  2. Click Reply or Reply all at the top of the message
  3. Type your response
  4. Click Send

Organizing Email

  • Flag messages for follow-up by clicking the flag icon
  • Create folders to organize messages by topic, project, or client
  • Move messages by dragging them to folders or using right-click → Move
  • Delete messages to move them to Deleted Items
  • Search using the search box at the top to find specific emails
