Hiding & Showing Widgets

Each widget on the settings page has a checkbox. The checkbox controls whether the widget is visible on the dashboard.

How It Works

  • Checked — The widget is visible on the dashboard.
  • Unchecked — The widget is completely removed from the dashboard for all users. It does not appear in Screen Options and cannot be re-enabled by individual users.

Hiding a Widget

  1. Go to Settings > Dashboard Cleanup.
  2. Find the widget you want to hide.
  3. Uncheck its checkbox.
  4. Click Save Changes.

The widget is now hidden for every user on the site.

Showing a Hidden Widget

To restore a widget, simply check its checkbox again and save. It will reappear on the dashboard in the position you’ve configured.

New Widgets

When you install a new plugin that registers a dashboard widget, it will appear on the settings page after your next visit to the Dashboard. New widgets are checked (visible) by default and are placed in their original column at the bottom.
