Quick Start Guide
Get your site into maintenance mode in under a minute.
1. Open the Settings Page
Go to Settings > Maintenance Mode. You’ll see a form with all the maintenance page options.
2. Enable Maintenance Mode
Check the Enable Maintenance Mode checkbox at the top.
3. Customize the Page (Optional)
- Background Color — Click the color picker to choose a page background color. The default is a dark blue (#1e3a5f).
- Background Image — Click Upload Image to select an image from the media library. The image covers the full page behind the content block.
- Content Block Background — Set the background color of the centered content container. Check Transparent to remove it entirely (useful with a background image).
- Content — Use the rich text editor to write your maintenance message. The default text says “Under Maintenance” with a brief explanation.
4. Save
Click Save Changes. Your site is now in maintenance mode. All non-admin visitors see the maintenance page.
5. Share a Bypass Link (Optional)
Copy the Bypass Link from the settings page and send it to your client. When they visit the link, a cookie is set that lets them browse the site normally for 7 days.
6. Disable When Done
Uncheck Enable Maintenance Mode and click Save Changes. The site is immediately accessible to everyone again.
Admin Bar Indicator
While maintenance mode is active, a yellow-highlighted Maintenance Mode item appears in the admin bar on every page (admin and frontend). Clicking it takes you directly to the settings page. This is a reminder that the site is blocked — so you don’t forget to turn it off.
