Installation & Activation
ID Admin Menu Customizer can be installed like any standard WordPress plugin. There are two installation methods available depending on your access level and preference.
Method 1: Upload via WordPress Admin
- Download the plugin
.zipfile to your computer. - In your WordPress admin, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
- Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.
- Click Choose File, select the downloaded
.zipfile, and click Install Now. - Once the installation completes, click Activate Plugin.
Method 2: Upload via FTP / File Manager
- Extract the plugin
.zipfile on your local machine. - Connect to your server using an FTP client or your hosting provider’s file manager.
- Upload the extracted plugin folder to
wp-content/plugins/. - In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins and find ID Admin Menu Customizer in the list.
- Click Activate.
After Activation
Once the plugin is activated, look at the very top of your admin sidebar. You will see a golden “Edit Menu” link appear above the Dashboard item. That’s it — the plugin is ready to use.
There are no settings pages and no additional configuration required. The entire plugin is controlled directly from the admin sidebar using the Edit Menu toggle.
Requirements
- WordPress: Version 5.0 or higher
- PHP: Version 7.2 or higher
- Capability: You must be an administrator (or have the
manage_optionscapability) to access edit mode
If you do not see the “Edit Menu” link after activation, verify that you are logged in as an administrator and that no caching plugin is serving a stale version of the page.
