12 Setting a Static Homepage Print

By default, WordPress displays your latest posts on the homepage. To use a custom page instead:

1. Go to Settings → Reading
2. Under "Your homepage displays," select A static page
3. Choose your Homepage from the dropdown (the page visitors see first)
4. Choose your Posts page from the dropdown (where your blog posts will appear)
5. Click Save Changes

Important Notes

• The page you select as your Posts page will automatically display your blog listing — you don't need to add any content to that page.
• You cannot use the same page for both Homepage and Posts page.
• If you don't have a blog, you can leave the Posts page dropdown empty.

Creating a Homepage

If you haven't already created a page to use as your homepage:

1. Go to Pages → Add New
2. Title it "Home" or "Homepage"
3. Add your content (or use your page builder)
4. Publish the page
5. Return to Settings → Reading to set it as your homepage
