If your site allows comments, new submissions appear under Comments in the dashboard.
Comment Statuses
- Pending – Awaiting your approval before appearing on the site
- Approved – Visible on the site
- Spam – Flagged as junk
- Trash – Deleted (emptied automatically after 30 days)
Managing Comments
Hover over any comment to see action links:
- Approve – Make the comment visible (for pending comments)
- Unapprove – Hide an approved comment pending review
- Reply – Respond to the commenter
- Quick Edit – Edit name, email, URL, or comment text inline
- Edit – Full editing screen
- Spam – Mark as spam and remove from view
- Trash – Delete the comment
Replying to Comments
Click Reply to respond directly. Your reply will be nested under the original comment and the commenter will receive an email notification (if enabled).
Bulk Actions
To manage multiple comments at once:
- Check the boxes next to the comments
- Select an action from the Bulk Actions dropdown
- Click Apply
Filtering Comments
Use the links at the top of the Comments screen to filter by status: All, Pending, Approved, Spam, or Trash.
You can also search for specific comments using the search box.
