Troubleshooting

This section covers solutions to common issues you may encounter while using the ID Admin Menu Customizer. Most problems can be resolved quickly with the steps provided here.

Before You Begin

When troubleshooting any issue with the plugin, start with these general checks:

  • Verify your user role. Most plugin features are only available to users with the manage_options capability (typically the Administrator role). If you’re logged in as an Editor, Author, or Subscriber, you won’t see the editing controls.
  • Check for JavaScript errors. Open your browser’s developer console (F12 or Ctrl+Shift+J on Windows, Cmd+Option+J on Mac) and look for any red error messages. JavaScript errors from other plugins or themes can interfere with the customizer.
  • Test with other plugins deactivated. If you suspect a conflict, temporarily deactivate other plugins to isolate the issue. Reactivate them one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.
  • Clear your browser cache. Cached CSS or JavaScript files can cause the interface to behave unexpectedly after an update.

If the general checks don’t resolve your issue, refer to the Common Issues guide below for specific problems and solutions.
