Quick Start Guide
After activation, the plugin works immediately. Here’s a quick walkthrough of the key behaviors.
1. What You’ll See Right Away
As a designated user (all admins by default), you’ll notice two changes on every admin page:
- Info and nag notices now have a persistent dismiss button. Click it to permanently hide a notice.
- Update notices are visible but don’t have a dismiss button — they’re shown as-is.
- Error, warning, and success notices are completely unchanged.
2. Dismiss a Notice
Click the X button on any info or nag notice. The notice will animate out and stay hidden on all future page loads. If you’ve dismissed any notices, a small banner appears showing how many are hidden, with a toggle to peek at them.
3. Restrict Who Sees Notices (Optional)
- Go to Settings > Admin Notices.
- Under Show notices to, select Specific users.
- Check the administrators who should see info nags and update notices.
- Click Save Changes.
Non-designated administrators will now see a clean admin — only errors, warnings, and success notices. All info nags and update notices are hidden from them via CSS.
4. Restore a Dismissed Notice
Go to Settings > Admin Notices, scroll to the Dismissed Notices section, and click Restore next to any notice — or click Restore All to bring everything back.
