Summary

Client Filter for Gmail is a Chrome extension that lets you organize Gmail by client. It stores your client list locally in your browser and does not send your email content, contacts, or client data to any server.

What the extension stores

All data is stored in Chrome’s local storage on your device only, unless you activate Pro (see below):

• Client names, email addresses, and colors you configure
• Display preferences (sort order, color stripes toggle, name chips toggle)
• Sidebar state (open or closed, current filter text)
• Your Pro license key, if you have purchased Pro

None of this data is transmitted to any third party. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

Pro sync across devices

When Client Filter Pro is activated, your client list and settings move from chrome.storage.local to chrome.storage.sync. Chrome’s built-in sync service then replicates that data across all Chromes signed into the same Google account. This uses Google’s standard extension sync mechanism — no data is sent to Insight Dezign’s servers as part of this sync. Deactivating your Pro license copies the most recent synced data back to local storage on your current device, so nothing is lost.

Gmail permissions

The extension runs on https://mail.google.com pages (including embedded iframes) so it can read the sender email address of visible messages and add its own user interface (a chip bar, sidebar panel, and row decorations). It does not read message bodies, does not modify your mail, and does not use the Gmail API or your Google account credentials.

License verification

If you purchase Client Filter Pro and enter your license key, the extension sends the key to https://insightdezign.com/wp-json/client-filter/v1/verify to confirm it is valid. This request contains only the license key — no other data. The response is cached locally and re-checked at most once every 24 hours.

Payment

Payment for Pro is handled by Stripe and is subject to Stripe’s privacy policy. Insight Dezign receives your purchase email address in order to deliver your license key. We do not receive or store your payment card information.

What we do not do

• We do not use analytics or tracking of any kind.
• We do not read, store, or transmit the contents of your email.
• We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or model training.
