Building or updating a WordPress site? Keep visitors informed with a professional maintenance page while you work behind the scenes. ID Maintenance Mode lets you design a custom “under construction” page and share a secret bypass link with clients so they can preview your progress.
Unlike basic maintenance plugins that show a plain white page with small text, ID Maintenance Mode gives you full control over what visitors see — background color, background image, and a rich text content block you can style however you want.
Full Visual Customization
Set a solid background color using the WordPress color picker, or upload a background image that covers the full viewport. The content block sits on top with its own configurable background — keep it white for a clean card look, set a brand color, or make it fully transparent so the content floats over your background image.
The content itself is managed through a standard WordPress rich text editor, so you can add headings, paragraphs, images, links, and any formatting you need. The default template gives you a starting point with a heading, description, and styled link — just edit to match your brand.
Client Bypass Links
The killer feature for agencies and freelancers: generate a unique bypass URL and share it with your client. When they click the link, a cookie is set that keeps them logged in for 7 days, allowing them to browse the full site normally while everyone else sees the maintenance page.
Need to revoke access? Regenerate the bypass key from the settings page and the old link stops working instantly.
SEO-Safe by Default
The maintenance page sends a proper 503 (Service Unavailable) status code with a Retry-After header, telling search engines to come back later rather than indexing your maintenance page. Administrators who are logged into WordPress always see the live site — there’s no risk of locking yourself out.
A yellow admin bar indicator reminds you when maintenance mode is active, so you never forget to turn it off.
