How do you take your business from Bricks and Mortar to Cyberspace?
If your like most people who approach me, you have an established business. However, lately things have been sluggish. Nobody doubts the economy is having an impact, but what about the fact that your competition is online and you’re not?
Ask yourself what you are currently doing to market and advertise your business. If you are still pouring your budget into print advertising and yellow pages space you may be throwing your money away.
How many times have you heard somebody say “Google It”? What does this tell you?
People are using search engines more and more to save them time, searching by foot or phone, for what they need. The internet makes it easy to compare products and services. Add to that the large growth of smart-phones, mobile search and geo-location services helping customers find a local business right around the corner. Your business needs to be online.
So, where do you start?
If you business is established you are probably listed on Google Places, Bing Local, Yahoo Local, Yelp, City Search or any of the other myriad of local listing services on the internet. Start by claiming those listings. Make sure all your information is correct and fill in anything that is missing. If you’re not listed, create a listing. Most of these are free and it is a great way to start your internet presence.
The amount of information you can provide on each service is limited, but is a good start. Once you have your profile set up we can work on building your presence on the internet and finding the ideal customer.
